The National Youth Council of Malawi (NYCOM) has received reports that some individuals are demanding money from young people while falsely claiming that they can provide access to Youth Innovation Fund (YIF) application forms or guarantee funding approval.
NYCOM would like to categorically state that no payment is required to access YIF application forms or to be considered for funding. The Council has not authorized any individual, group, or organization to collect money on its behalf for the purpose of facilitating applications or influencing funding decisions.
The Youth Innovation Fund is committed to promoting transparency, fairness, and equal opportunity for all eligible young people. All applications are assessed through an established review process, and no individual can guarantee approval or influence the outcome of an application.
Applicants are therefore advised to remain vigilant and avoid making payments to anyone claiming they can expedite, facilitate, or secure funding approval. Any such requests should be treated as fraudulent and reported immediately to the NYCOM Secretariat.
To protect yourself from fraud:
- Do not pay anyone to access YIF application forms.
- Do not pay anyone who promises guaranteed funding approval.
- Verify all information through NYCOM’s official communication channels.
- Report suspicious activities or individuals to the Council immediately.
NYCOM encourages all applicants and stakeholders to rely only on information shared through its official platforms, including its website and verified social media channels.
